NOTICE OF A PUBLIC HEARING

A public hearing is set for Wednesday, November 22, 2023, at 6:00 PM for all interested citizens of the City of Ames, Texas.  The public hearing will be held in the Council Chambers of the City Hall, 304 Martin Drive.  The purpose of the hearing is to discuss a proposed performance statement amendment to its 2021 Texas CDBG Program Community Development Contract CDV21-0476. A copy of the proposed amendment is available for review during normal business hours at the City Hall address listed above. NOTICE OF A PUBLIC HEARING ADOPTING A TAX RATE 

A public hearing is set for Monday, September 18, 2023, at 6:00 PM for all interested citizens of the City of Ames, Texas.  The public hearing will be held in the Council Chambers of the City Hall, 304 Martin Drive.  The purpose of the hearing is to receive citizen comments regarding the adoption of a Tax Rate.  These documents may be examined on the City’s website at https://cityofamestexas.com.  

All interested citizens will have the opportunity to give comments.

The City of Ames will consider adopting a tax rate of $.5000 per $100 of assessed value, which is a decrease in the 2022 adopted tax rate by $0.01355 per $100 of assessed valuation.  

 

NOTICE OF A PUBLIC HEARING FOR PROPOSED FY 2024 BUDGET

A public hearing is set for Monday, September 25, 2023, at 6:00 PM for all interested citizens of the City of Ames, Texas.  The meeting will be held in the Council Chambers of the City Hall, 304 Martin Drive.  The purpose of the hearing is to receive citizen comments regarding the Fiscal Year 2024 Proposed Budget.   This document may be examined on the City’s website at https://cityofamestexas.com.  

All interested citizens will have the opportunity to give comments.

This budget will raise more revenue from property taxes than last year’s budget by an amount of $52,898.71, which is a 21.63% tax increase from last year’s budget. The property tax revenue to be raise from new property added to the tax roll is $8,308.55.
