NOTICE OF A PUBLIC HEARING FOR PROPOSED FY 2025 BUDGET
A public hearing is set for Monday, September 23, 2024, at 6:00 PM for all interested citizens of the City of Ames, Texas. The meeting will be held in the Council Chambers of the City Hall, 304 Martin Drive. The purpose of the hearing is to receive citizen comments regarding the Fiscal Year 2025 Proposed Budget. This document may be examined on the City’s website at https://cityofamestexas.com.
All interested citizens will have the opportunity to give comments. This budget will raise more total property taxes than last year’s budget by $52,491.80 or 20.19%, and of that amount $7,104.25 is tax revenue to be raised from new property added to the tax roll this year.
NOTICE OF A PUBLIC HEARING ADOPTING A TAX RATE
The City of Ames, Texas will hold a meeting at 6:00 PM on September 23, 2024, at Ames City Hall to consider adopting a proposed tax rate for tax year 2024. The proposed tax rate is $0.50 per $100 of value. The proposed tax rate would increase total taxes in City of Ames, Texas by 2.76%.
