Early Voting

By Personal Appearance

If you are eligible to vote on Election Day, you are eligible to vote during the period for Early Voting by Personal Appearance. Early Voting is open to all registered voters. Normally, during this period the lines are shorter and this period also includes two twelve-hour days for early voting. These two days provide additional early morning and late evening opportunities for citizens to participate in the voting process. The Early Voting polling place for City of Liberty Elections is the Jack Hartel Building located at 318 San Jacinto Street, Liberty, Texas 77575.

By Mail

All registered voters are eligible to request and receive a ballot by mail if any of the following conditions prevent them from voting during the period of Early Voting by Personal Appearance or on Election Day:

  • Expected absence from the County during both the early voting period and on Election Day
  • Disability
  • 65 Years of age or older
  • Confinement in jail and not finally convicted of a felony.

The request must state the address at which you are registered to vote, the condition above that applies, the address to which you want the ballot mailed, and your signature. If the ballot is not to be mailed outside the County and not to the address at which you are registered, you must give an explanation as to the address submitted, such as a hospital, nursing home, etc.

Applications for ballot by mail may not be submitted more than 60 days before Election Day. Requests for a ballot by mail must be received BY MAIL after the beginning of the early voting period.
